OVERVIEW OF CANADIAN AND UKRAINIAN KING PEDRO

Canadian and Ukrainian King Pedro is a trick-taking card game for 4 players. These 4 players will split into two partnerships of 2 players and teammates will sit opposite of each other.

The goal of the game is to reach 200 or more points. The points are cumulative and to win you must reach or exceed 200 points on a successful bid.

SETUP

The first dealer is chosen at random and passes to the left after each round. The dealer will shuffle the deck and deal each player a hand of 9 cards, 3 cards at a time.

Card Rankings and Values

Canadian and Ukrainian King Pedro has two different rankings, one for the trump suit and one for non-trump suits. For Canadian and Ukrainian King Pedro the trump can change each round, this can change the cards in the rankings. The 5 of the suit that is the same color as the trump suit is also considered a trump card. So, if hearts are trumps, the 5 of diamonds is also a trump. 먹튀검증사이트

The ranking for trump suit is Ace (high), King, Queen, Jack, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5 (the one of the suit), 5 (the one of the other suit of the same color), 4, 3, and 2 (low). The other suits follow the same ranking of Ace (high). King, Queen, Jack, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5 (when applicable), 4, 3, and 2.

Canadian and Ukrainian King Pedro also assigns certain cards with values for scoring. The only cards worth points are of the trump suit. The Ace of trump is worth 1 point, the king of trumps is worth 30 points, the jack of trump is worth 1 point, the ten of trump is worth 10 points, then 9 of trumps is worth 9 points, the five of trump is worth 5 points, the other 5 of trump is also worth 5 points, and the 2 of trumps is worth 1 point.

The 2 is scored by the players who play the card during the game. All other cards are scored by the winner of the card.

BIDDING

The bidding starts with the player to the dealer’s left. They can either bid or pass. If bidding a player will need to bid higher than the previous bid. The bid has a minimum of 30 and a maximum of 62. Players are bidding for the chance to call the trump suit. The bidding ends when 3 of the four players have passed if a bid has been made.

If all four players pass with no bid made, cards are collected and redealt.

The winner of the bid will call the trump suit. After the dealer will deal each player an additional 4 cards.

Then all players must reduce their hands to 6 cards. If a player has no trumps in their hand, then they must fold their hand, and will not play in the round. If you have one or two trumps you may pass these to your partner and then fold. If you have more than 6 trumps you must discard the non-scoring trumps, and if you have all 7 scoring trumps you must discard the 2. All trumps discarded must be discarded face up.

GAMEPLAY

Each team is trying to win the tricks containing the point cards. The team that won the bid will also need to win at least the number of points they bid to score their point cards.

The player who won the bidding round will start the game and from them players clockwise in order. The first player must lead a trump but moving forward the leader may play any card they wish. If the trick is led by a trump, then all players must play a trump if possible. If it is led by a non-trump all other players must also play a non-trump (regardless of suit). Only when they have nothing, but trump cards may then follow with a trump.

Tricks are won by the highest trump played to them. If no trump was played to a trick, then the leader of the trick wins no matter what the trick consists of. The winner of a trick will lead the next.
